The Township of Manchester requires a State Uniform Building Code (UDC) permit as well as a town building permit for any new 1 or 2 family dwellings, including homes and cabins, constructed or placed on any parcel. Driveways require approval from the Town.

  • UDC Building Permits will be issued by General Engineering Company
  • Driveways that access a town road require approval from the town.
  • The Township of Manchester is zoned. Contact Jackson County for a land use permit before receiving a building permit from the town.
  • Detached garages and outbuildings (125 sq. ft and over) and decks require a permit from the town.
  • This policy does not exempt the property owner from any County, State, DNR and/or Federal regulations that may apply

Please call the town clerk to make arrangements to rent town hall.

  1. Rental of the Town Hall Building is open to Manchester Residents for a fee of $50.00 per day.
  2. A $100 Deposit is required to cover any costs of clean-up or damage to the building. Deposit check will be returned to renter upon inspection.
  3. Arrangement for renting the building is with the Town Clerk.
  4. The building will not be available within 1 week prior to any scheduled Election.
  • Renter has access to public meeting, kitchen and bathroom areas. Offices and Shop are off limits.
  • Renter must clean up areas and arrange the table and chairs back to original meeting set-up.
  • Renter is required to dispose of any garbage and or recycling materials off site.
  • Renter must report any known incidents/accidents/none working appliances that would require attention.

Garbage and Recycling

No garbage service is provided. However, the Township has a garbage and recycling site N2929 West Pine Hill Rd. Open Saturday mornings from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

Every Saturday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the dump site N2929 West Pine Hill Rd.

Bags are $2.00 each in lots of 10 for $20.

No charge for Recycling.

Recycling can be co-mingled, except for cardboard which has to be separated.
